The “Silver Fox” was a fixture in the Tigers outfield for more than a decade. Playing all three spots with equal skill, Northrup was a key contributor to the club’s 1968 World Championship and his bat helped Detroit return to the post-season in 1972. Northrup’s 1970-1972 era Hillerich & Bradsby S2L model bat displays outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are present on the right and back barrel along with green bat rack paint streaks. A heavy coat of pine tar is found on the handle and the model number “S2L is stamped into the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15037) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
