The 1971 Nebraska Cornhuskers went into the season as defending champs, fresh off a campaign that saw them finish with a mark of 11-0-1 and atop the final AP poll. Nebraska went on to have an even more dominating season in ’71, this time around going an undefeated 13-0 and once again finishing number one in the polls. Their season culminated in a 38-6 drubbing of Alabama in the Orange Bowl. The team’s playmakers were Johnny Rodgers, who had 956 yards receiving with 11 TDs, and Jeff Kinney, who ran for 1,136 yards and 17 scores.

Offered here is a Balfour 10K gold 1970-71 Nebraska Cornhuskers NCAA football national championship ring, which features one round diamond in the center of the face, with a large red stone background. “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS” reads in relief lettering around the bezel setting, with two smaller diamonds separating the words. There are a total of 12 points in diamonds. One shank shows a larger number 19, with smaller numbers 70 and 71 next to it, representing the national title years of 1970 and 1971. The opposite shank displays “NU”. On the inside of this ladies’ style ring appears the manufacturer mark “LGB” as well as “10K”.  This ring is an approximate size 7 and weighs approximately 6.6 grams. Comes with manufacturer's ring box and owner's original purchase LOA.
