Los Angeles Rams running back and 1973 Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti wore this blue Rams home jersey during the mid-1970’s, circa 1974-78. A bruising backfield player out of Philadelphia’s Monsignor Bonner High School and Pennsylvania State University, Cappelletti played five seasons with the Rams and the final four years of his career with the San Diego Chargers. Cappelletti earned a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 after scoring 29 touchdowns in his two seasons with the Nittany Lions. This offered Rams home jersey is blue, with gold horns on the shoulders and “CAPPELLETTI” printed across the back shoulders in white lettering over a matching blue nameplate. Cappelletti’s number “22” is printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in gold numerals. A Wm. Fredericks Company tag, a Los Angeles Rams tag, and a Sand-Knit size “48” tags are sewn on the front left tail. Cappelletti has signed the second “2” digit on the back of the jersey in blue marker. This jersey comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication Services for Cappelletti’s signature and a PMG LOA for use by the former Penn State ballcarrier.
