Hall of Fame college football coach Lou Holtz is the only coach in NCAA history to lead six different teams to bowl games. One of his stops was with North Carolina State where he joined them in 1972. In 1973, Holtz guided the Wolfpack to the ACC title with a perfect 6-0 conference record and an overall record of 9-3. NC State faced off against the Kansas Jayhawks in the 1973 Liberty Bowl and defeated them 31-18. Presented here is a gold football-shaped pendant that was presented to Lou Holtz and comes from his personal collection. One panel has “LOU HOLTZ” engraved while another panel with the “laces” has “ATLANTIC COAST”, “19”, “73” and “CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS” in raised lettering. Also engraved is “1/10-10K-G.F. LGB”. There is no chain attached. This comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
