The 1973 Oakland Athletics were in the middle of winning three consecutive World Series championships, claiming the title from 1972 through 1974. Reggie Jackson provided the team’s biggest bat, hitting .293 with 32 home runs and 117 runs batted in. Jackson got plenty of help from the likes of Sal Bando (.287 average, 29 homers, 98 RBIs), Gene Tenace (24 homers, 84 RBIs, 101 walks) and Bill North (.285 average, 53 stolen bases). On the mound, the A’s featured three 20-game winners in Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue and Ken Holtzman, while closer Rollie Fingers posted a dominant 1.92 ERA. The A’s won 94 games during the regular season to win the American League West, before defeating the Baltimore Orioles in the ALCS, then the New York Mets in the World Series to repeat as champions.

Offered here is a 1973 Oakland A’s World Series ring that was presented to manager Dick Williams. This Jostens 14K gold ring features a large green colored center stone, with “72 73 WORLD CHAMPIONS” around the bezel setting in relief work. One side is centered by the team logo, with “OAKLAND” above and “WILLIAMS” below. The opposite side shows playoff opponents and results, as well as the slogan “S+S=S” (Sweat + Sacrifice = Success). Inside the band is marked “JOSTEN14K”. This ring is an approximate size 9 ½ and weighs approximately 30.3 grams.
