A presidential impeachment is a rare event, with only two 20th century presidents subjected to the proceedings. The first, Richard Nixon, resigned rather than face impeachment, while the dual impeachment charges against Bill Clinton failed to stick. Offered in this lot are two tickets to the presidential impeachment trials of the 20th century. The first, from Nixon’s 1974 impeachment proceedings, admitted a member of the United States House of Representatives to the Senate floor on October 7th, 1974. This full ticket has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (22393704). The second ticket is for the 1999 impeachment trial of Clinton. It is for the date of February 8th, 1999 and it admitted the bearer to the Senate gallery. This pass has been encapsulated and graded a GOOD 2 by PSA (20942356).
