The bruising Hall of Famer John Riggins wore this red Washington Redskins jersey circa 1976-77. The former Kansas Jayhawk, in his first season with Washington in 1976, rushed for 572 yards and three touchdowns a season after making his first career Pro Bowl with the New York Jets in 1975. A knee injury ruled Riggins out for all but five games in 1977, although the future Super Bowl MVP claimed the NFL Comeback Player of the Year with a 1,000 rushing yard season in 1978. Riggins played through 1985 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992.

This offered Washington jersey is red, with Riggins’ number “44” printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in white numerals. “RIGGINS” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill over a matching red nameplate. A Sand-Knit tag and a Sand-Knit size “46” tags are sewn on the front left tail. This jersey features numerous team repairs. The jersey is accompanied by a LOA from PM&G.
