It is the sport that pulled Michael Jordan away from basketball. America’s pastime baseball was always a part of the great Michael Jordan’s sporting legacy. Already a superstar basketball player in high school, Jordan was an excellent baseball player, so much so, his father – the late James Jordan hoped his son would become a professional baseballer. Like many young boys in the mid-to-late 1970’s, Michael Jordan played baseball during the summer and offered here is the very first baseman’s glove he used during the 1977-78 Babe Ruth League season. This glove is a MacGregor GB25 Ken Harrelson Personal model glove and it goes on the left hand. The glove displays heavy game use with significant wear on the pocket and web and various staining on the outside wrist. A historic glove and it comes with a LOA from Jordan’s coach Richard Neher, an LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00619) for the game use, a photograph of Jordan's Babe Ruth baseball team and a draft roster from the team.
