Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was selected for one of his 19 NBA All-Star Games during the 1978-79 NBA season. Abdul-Jabbar, who joined the Lakers in 1975, scored 23.8 points with 12.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and an NBA-high 4.0 blocks per game during the 1978-79 campaign. Offered here is a plaque awarded to Abdul-Jabbar in honor of his selection to the 1979 All-Star Game at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. The plaque measures 9.5 x 7.5 inches. Etched on the surface in high-relief is “Presented to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar In Recognition Of Being Selected For The NBA All-Star Team”. Also etched in high-relief on the plaque is a 1979 All-Star Game logo and the facsimile signature of the President of American Chicle. This plaque comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
