Rickey Henderson made his big-league debut in June of 1979. As a taste of what was to come, Rickey went 2-for-4 and swiped a base. He stole 32 more that season and finished up with a .274 average. Used during his rookie year, Henderson’s 1979 Hillerich & Bradsby S2 model bat shows outstanding use with a “V” crack in its handle. Numerous ball marks are visible on the right and back barrel. Cleat imprints and a few small depressions can be found on the left barrel and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Henderson has signed the barrel in black marker, adding “My 1979 Game Used Bat.” A complete rookie Henderson gamer signed by the Hall of Famer himself. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16687) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5, plus a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
