Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits. Throughout his distinguished career, Randolph received many awards and in 1980, Randolph was presented with the New Jersey’s Sports Writers Association Good Guy Award for the 1980 season. This offered award measures 14 ½-inches high with a silver trophy that has a fielder’s glove design on the top. The trophy rests on a two-tiered 9 x 9-inch wood base and a silver plate that reads “N.J. SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION GOOD GUY AWARD 1980 WILLIE RANDOLPH” etched on. This award comes from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Randolph will also accompany this item.
