Boston Celtics icon Larry Bird wore these Converse Weapon sneakers during the 1980’s. Bird was the toast of the NBA during this decade, leading the Celtics to titles in 1981, 1984, and 1986. A three-time NBA MVP, Bird averaged 24.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game from 1979-80 through 1989-90. Blending flair, a burning competitive drive, and unparalleled shooting, Bird built a Hall of Fame career from the ground up in French Lick, Indiana. Hampered by back issues, the 12-time All-Star retired after the 1992-93 season and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998.

These offered Converse Weapon sneakers are black, with white accents. White Converse logos are sewn to both sides of each shoe. The laces on this pair of high-top basketball shoes are white. A Converse tag is sewn on the right tongue and there is a custom heel pad in one of these shoes which is a unique feature as Bird was having issues with his heel. The shoes show excellent wear and are accompanied by a LOA from a former Atlanta Hawks ballboy who received the shoes from Bird after a Celtics game against Atlanta.
