Baseball’s hit king Pete Rose wore this Mizuno GIC-4 infielder’s glove circa 1981. Rose, who joined the Philadelphia Phillies in 1979, played in 107 games for the Phils during the strike-shortened 1981 MLB season. Rose led all of baseball with 140 hits, driving in 33 runs while scoring 73 and batting .325. Rose made the National League All-Star team in 1981, leading the Phillies to a 59-48 record and an appearance in the postseason against the Montreal Expos.

This Mizuno glove is made of tan leather and measures 11 inches. The web style is “Deep Bowl” one-piece web, with light wear evident throughout the glove. A Mizuno tag is sewn on the wrist strap and a fabric and vinyl logo is sewn on the back of the web. “MIZUNO” is printed on the heel of the glove above the model number. Rose’s number “14” is written on the back of the thumb in black marker. Rose has signed the back of the index finger slot in black marker. This glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for use (1G00444) and a PSA/DNA COA for the signature (8A42216). There is also a LOA from Daniel M. Zahorsky, who was the Chicago Cubs bat boy from 1980-83 and attests that this glove was given to him by Rose.
