There was certainly no shortage of superstars in The Forum for the 1983 NBA All-Star Game, as the East defeated the West by a final score of 132-123. Julius Erving was named the game’s Most Valuable Player, leading all scorers with 25 points. East teammates Larry Bird (14 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists) and Sidney Moncrief (20 points and six steals off the bench) also had big games. Hometown Lakers Magic Johnson (17 points, 16 assists) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (20 points with a game-high four blocked shots) led the West.
Offered here is a Balfour-manufactured 1983 NBA All-Star Game ring presented to Hall of Famer and NBA all-time leading scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar that features a beautiful blue colored center stone, on which an image of a basketball appears. In relief lettering, “NBA” reads above the stone, while “ALL STAR” shows below. One side of the ring is centered by a colorful NBA league logo, with “ABDUL-JABBAR” displayed at the top. The opposite side shows the year “1983” along with “THE FORUM” next to an image of the building’s outside, with a basketball also shown. “BALFOUR CELESTRUM” is marked on the inside of this approximate size 11 ½ ring. This item weighs approximately 16.7 grams and comes with a signed LOA from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
