Newly elected Hall of Famer Lee Smith finished his career with 478 saves. In 1983, Smith was in his fourth season, all with the Chicago Cubs, and finished the year with National League high 29 saves and a 1.65 ERA.

Smith wore this size 46 Wilson Chicago Cubs pullover home jersey during the 1983 season. This white with blue pinstriped jersey features the Cubs logo patch sewn on the upper left chest. The collar is blue V-neck that has been cut at its base. On the bottom front left tail is a “83” patch and the inside back collar has the team strip tag that reads “46 83 2 46”. The back of the jersey has Lee’s number “46” sewn on in blue tackle twill. The left sleeve has the Cubs walking bear logo patch sewn on and each sleeve has a blue stripe on the ends. Smith has signed his name in black marker on the bottom right portion of the front of the jersey and inscribed “#46”. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication for the game use and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
