Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt led the National League in 1983 with 40 home runs, the sixth time in his storied career. Schmidt also led the Senior Circuit in walks with 128, on-base percentage at .399 and won his 8th Gold Glove and 4th Silver Slugger Awards, while earning his 8th All-Star selection. His hard work led to the Phillies into the post-season where he batted well above .400, leading the Phillies to a 3-1 NLCS victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers before falling to the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series.

Offered here is one of the bats used by Mike Schmidt during the 1983 season. This Rawlings/Adirondack MS20 model bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the handle that has been repaired. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, white leather scuffs present on the barrel, along with cleat imprints red bat rack streaks and an impression of a weighted donut. The mid-to-upper handle has a heavy coating of pine tar and the bat’s model number “MS20”, order number “195” and year “3” are stamped on the knob. Schmidt’s number “20” is on the knob in faded black marker, while the bat’s weight “33” is also handwritten on the knob in black ink. Schmidt has signed this bat in black marker on the barrel to complete this Hall of Fame gamer. This comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24210) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9.5, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
