Michael Jordan’s first season with the Chicago Bulls made the rest of the NBA stand on notice. The third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft was already the best player in the NBA at the end of his first season, averaging 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists per game, and 2.4 steals per game. The Bulls had found their savior, reaching the playoffs in Jordan’s rookie season despite finishing with a dismal 27-55 record the year prior to his anointment as the face of the NBA. Jordan was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in the voter’s easiest decision in recent memory while also earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team and the All-Rookie First Team.

This offered Spalding basketball has been signed by Jordan and ten of his Chicago Bulls teammates. The additional signatures on this basketball include Quintin Dailey, Rod Higgins, Steve Johnson, Dave Corzine, Jawann Oldham, Wes Matthews, Sidney Green, Caldwell Jones, Ennis Whatley, and Orlando Woolridge. Jordan’s signature is located directly north of the Spalding wordmark panel. His iconic John Hancock presents beautifully, with the signatures on this David J. Stern Official Game Ball graded MINT 9 by Beckett Authentication Services. This is one of, if not the finest, 1984-85 Chicago Bulls team signed basketballs Goldin Auctions has encountered, with the 11 signatures presenting as clearly as the day they were signed. This historic basketball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication Services (A69189). This basketball offers the opportunity to own one of the finest artifacts extant from Jordan’s magnificent rookie season.
