Presented here is a Molten JB-77 1984 Olympics game used basketball signed by 13 members of the United States Men’s Basketball Team along with Coach Bob Knight obtained from the personal collection of Wayman Tisdale, a key contributor to the gold medal winning team. The 1984 squad easily won the gold medal, winning every game of the tournament and defeating Spain 96-65 in the gold medal game. Michael Jordan led the team in scoring, dropping 17.1 points per contest, and Tisdale was the leading rebounder at 6.4 per game. 13 members of the 1984 US Olympic Basketball Team have signed this game used basketball, including Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Chris Mullin, Patrick Ewing, along with Coach Bob Knight. Other signatures include Alvin Robertson, Vern Fleming, Sam Perkins, and several more completing this sphere.

Although multiple 1992 Dream Team signed game used balls have surfaced in the hobby, to our knowledge this is the only known 1984 game used basketball. Featuring a pre-NBA Michael Jordan signature, who went on to become arguably the greatest basketball player of all time only underscores the importance of this relic.  Heavy use is visible.  This gamer is also signed by Hall of Fame Coach Bob Knight whose legendary antics include cutting Charles Barkley and John Stockton from this team. This basketball originates from the personal collection of the Late Wayman Tisdale, a key player from this team, and includes a Letter of Provenance from his widow Regina Tisdale. Additionally, there is a LOA from MEARS for game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A89893) for the signatures.
