Under manager Sam Perlozzo, the 1985 Jackson Mets of the Class AA Texas League finished the regular season first in the Eastern division with a record of 73-63. The New York Mets’ affiliate went on to defeat the Arkansas Travelers, two games to none, in the first round of the playoffs before sweeping the El Paso Diablos in four straight games in the finals. Jackson would finish undefeated in the postseason. Dave Magadan hit .309 with 106 walks while Barry Lyons batted .307 with 108 runs batted in.

A Mets “NY” logo appears on a large blue colored center stone, with “TEXAS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 1985” reading around the bezel setting along with two small CZs. One side of the read displays “JACKSON” above an enamel-filled logo that includes the word “SWEEP”. The name “ELSTER” appears in a banner at the top of the opposite side, above a Mets team logo. Manufacturer copyright mark appears inside the band of this approximate size 10 ½ ring. This item weighs approximately 27.4 grams and comes with a LOA from Kevin Elster.
