Pete Rose made his return to Cincinnati in 1984 after his five seasons in Philadelphia and his partial season with the Montreal Expos. Rose eventually became the player-manager for the Reds in 1985 and 1986, earning the final All-Star nod of his career in 1985, before retiring as a player. He ended his playing career with 4,256 career hits, by far the most all-time in baseball history.

Rose wore this home white Cincinnati Reds pullover jersey during the 1985 and 1986 seasons. This jersey is a size 43 and manufactured by W. A. Goodman & Sons of Los Angeles tag sewn on the left front tail and an “85” embroidered in red. The front of the jersey has the Reds “wishbone C” logo sewn on the upper left chest in red and white tackle twill and Rose’s number “14” sewn on in the same red and white tackle twill on the upper right chest. The Goodman tag is sewn on the bottom of the front left tail. The V-neck collar has a red/white/red pattern and the sleeve ends are capped in a red and white ribbed material.

The back of the jersey has “ROSE” and his number “14” sewn on in red and white tackle twill. Adding to this already impressive jersey is Rose has added his signature in black marker diagonally on “4” on the back. This jersey displays moderate game use with some small stains present. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted jersey authenticator Bill Henderson for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A52500) for the signature.
