The Hall-of-Fame Cards’ manager led the team to two pennants (1967, 1968) and one World Series championship (1968). His eleven seasons (1965 – 1976) at the helm makes him the second-longest tenured Cards’ manager, and he has spent a record 68 seasons in a major league uniform. An outstanding second baseman for 19 years, he has spent the last 68 years involved in MLB. This jersey was worn by "Red" late during the 1985 season (and possibly into the post season), which saw the Cardinals dispatch the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS before blowing a 3-1 lead over Kansas City in the 1985 World Series. This white pullover jersey has "Cardinals" scripted across the chest in their classic Cardinals on the bat motif, with his number "2" below and on the reverse. The lower tail has the "Rawlings Size 46" manufacturers size tag, with attached "1985 Set 2" tag. His name "SCHOENDIENST" is across the back, almost in a complete semi-circle. Schoendienst signed this home, Rawlings jersey in bold blue Sharpie just below the Cards’ inimitable logo. COA from PSA/DNA, cert number U69488, with sticker affixed to the number on reverse. Also comes with a letter of authenticity from game worn jersey expert Dave Miedema.
