Wayman Tisdale was one of the most dominant collegiate basketball players of his era, winning Big Eight Conference Player of the Year honors in each of his three seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners. A first-team All-American in each of his three years in Norman, Tisdale averaged a double-double of 25.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in college. Tisdale was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
The offered plaque honors Tisdale for his selection to the 1985 National Association of College Basketball Coaches of the United States All-America team. Tisdale was joined on the first team by Patrick Ewing, Keith Lee, Chris Mullin, and John Dawkins. Other notable players on the three All-America teams include Karl Malone, Mark Price, Len Bias, and Detlef Schrempf. This plaque measures 20 x 14 inches, and comes with a LOA from Regina Tisdale, the wife of the late Wayman Tisdale.
