At the height of his brilliant but abbreviated 14-year career, Don Mattingly was regarded as among the game’s elite hitters - from his breakout season of 1984 through the late 1980s posting a combined .318 average during the labeling period (1987-1988) for this Louisville Slugger model T141 Don Mattingly professional model bat. This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, blue ink transfers and stitch impressions on the barrel. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle and Mattingly’s number “23” is handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B08832) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5.
