Although best known for his 2,632 consecutive games played streak, Cal Ripken, Jr. holds another streak record that will most likely never be surpassed – 8,243 consecutive innings played. That streak was ended on September 14, 1987, but his quest for Lou Gehrig’s record resumed when he was in the lineup the next day. This offered Rawlings PRO 6-HF model glove was used by Cal Ripken, Jr. during the 1987 season. This glove displays outstanding game use with even wear being shown on the pocket, web face and throughout the body of the glove. The tips of the fingers are scuffed as would be expected from Ripken playing in the field during the 1987 season.

The glove was constructed of Rawlings top grade “Heart of the Hide” tanned steer hid and is bound with tanned rawhide laces. The web is a pro-style single post double T-bar with a closed “Fastback” with finger “Holster” back and an adjustable wrist strap. The Rawlings red label with white lettering embroidered is on the wrist. “1987 RIPKEN” is handwritten in black marker on the outer index finger and this glove has been signed by Ripken in black marker on the outside middle finger. This comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this glove.
