Perhaps remembered best as one of MLB's portliest umps (along with Eric Gregg and John McSherry), Ken Kaiser worked in the AL for over two decades between 1977 and 1999. Sporting News named him "The Most Colorful Umpire" in a 1986 poll, and he later wrote an autobiography called Planet of the Umps: A Baseball Life From Behind the Plate. This Balfour 10K-gold, size 13-1/2 ring comes from Kaiser's first Fall Classic (Twins/Cardinals) and showcases an 85-point diamond. An umpire figure appears on one shank and "KEN KAISER 1987" is engraved inside the band. EX condition. Accompanied by a Balfour box and 2004 purchase LOA.
