After being selected fifth overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1984 draft, Charles Barkley played 16 seasons with three different teams, earning Hall of Fame induction in 2006. This red mesh away jersey is from Barkley’s All-Star 1989 – 90 season. The MacGregor Sand-Knit game-used jersey is red mesh on one side with blue-trimmed white tackle-twill “Sixers” and “34” on the front (and “34” on back). White tackle-twill lettering “Barkley” is stitched across the back shoulders. Four white, cloth tags are stitched to the lower left hip. The upper left corner bears the year (“89”) tag, the lower left corner bears “2MLB,” the upper right corner bears “Designed and Tailored Exclusively for Philadelphia 76ers,” the lower right corner bears “Sand Knit/50/Berlin, WI U.S.A./MacGregor Sporting Goods.” The material (100% Polyester) and washing instructions tag is stitched to the internal right-side seam. The NBA logo is stitched to the left shoulder strap.
Evidence of game use is limited to sweat stains on the white tackle twill of front and back letters and front “34.”
