Benito Santiago was the 1987 Rookie of the Year and the catcher went on to enjoy a 20-year career in which he was a five-time All-Star. He won three Gold Gloves consecutively from 1988 to 1990. This white button-down jersey has brown pinstripes and “PADRES” written across the front in brown-on-orange tackle twill. Santiago’s number “9” and “SANTIAGO” are on the back in tackle twill. There is a brown “Rawlings” logo stitched on the left sleeve and a Rawlings tag on the inside of the front tail that has the number “40” to indicate the size. There is also a tag attached to that that says “SET 2 1990” to indicate the set number and year of the jersey. Santiago hit .270 with 11 home runs, 53 RBI and 42 runs scored over 100 games in 1990. Santiago’s signature is written in black Sharpie on the outside of the collar on the left half of the front of the jersey. Santiago’s signature comes with a PSA/DNA certification number U77439. The jersey exhibits evidence of light game use and appears to be all original. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
