Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana wore this red San Francisco 49ers jersey during the 1990 NFL season. This was Montana’s last full season with the Niners, as an elbow injury suffered in 1991 limited him to one half of game action in 1991 and 1992 combined. In 1990, Montana led the 49ers to a 14-2 record and a spot in the NFC Championship Game. Arguably the best game of Montana’s career took place in the 49ers Week 5 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The Notre Dame product threw for 476 yards and six touchdowns, including five to his fellow Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, as the 49ers beat the Falcons 45-35 on the road. Montana finished the season with a career-best 3,944 yards as well as 26 passing touchdowns. The New Eagle, Pennsylvania native retired after the 1994 season, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

This red jersey has Montana’s number “16” sewn on the chest, back, and shoulders in white tackle twill. “MONTANA” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill over a matching red nameplate. Three white stripes are screen printed on each sleeve. A red Wilson logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A Wilson tag with an attached size “46” flag is sewn on the front left tail. Montana has signed the “1” digit on the back of the jersey in blue marker. This jersey shows light wear and comes with a LOA from Sports Investors, as well as a Letter of Provenance from TD7 Sports. A PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY (Y64760) covers Montana’s signature.
