United States center forward Michelle Akers wore these blue Adidas shorts during practices for the 1991 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China. The United States claimed the inaugural FIFA Women’s World Cup title largely based on goals scored by Akers, with the former UCF star bagging 10 goals during the tournament -- including five during one game against Chinese Taipei! Akers easily won the Golden Boot of the tournament after scoring both goals in the United States’ 2-1 win over Norway in the championship game.
These offered Adidas shorts are blue, with three white Adidas stripes on the left leg. Akers’ number “10”, usually reserved for the best player on any given team, is sewn on the right leg in white tackle twill. An Adidas tag is present in the waistband, while a black Adidas logo is printed on the left leg. These historic shorts come with a LOA from Michelle Akers herself. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue and Outreach Inc.
