During the 1992-93 NBA season Michael Jordan debuted his eighth Nike signature shoe. The Jordan VIII was a massive hit, continuing MJ’s run of domination in the signature shoe market. Jordan wore a pair of these kicks during the 1993 NBA Playoffs and Finals, where he led the Bulls to their third consecutive title. The greatest player of all-time scored the 20,000th point of his career in 1992-93, further adding to the legacy of these iconic shoes.

1992-93 was one of MJ’s best seasons as he led the NBA in both points per game, with 32.6, and steals per game, at 2.8. He exhibited more of his well-rounded excellence during the Bulls 57-25 season, posting 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting just shy of 50% from the field. Jordan also led the Bulls to the first of their two NBA Finals three-peats in another masterful playoff performance. The Bulls swept the Hawks and Cavaliers in the first two rounds to set up a Conference Finals matchup against Patrick Ewing and the New York Knicks. The Bulls – or rather Michael Jordan – overcame the Knicks rushing out to a 2-0 series lead by repeatedly destroying the Knicks over the following four games. In Game 4, Jordan exploded for a 54 point performance, including scoring 18 points from three pointers, to deliver the Bulls a 105-95 victory on their home court. MJ and the Bulls traveled west to meet the Phoenix Suns, led by regular season MVP Charles Barkley, in the NBA Finals.

The Bulls won a second consecutive six game series, defeating the Suns 99-98 in the desert in the deciding Game 6. Jordan wore a pair of Air Jordan VIIIs during this game, using their high ankle support to chop and dice the Suns to the tune of 33 points. Jordan also contributed eight rebounds and seven assists, each crucial in the Bulls exceptionally close victory.

These shoes are black, with a crisscrossing lace guard over the laces and tongue. Black ankle straps adorn the heels of these size 13 shoes. A white and red “23” is applied to the top of each lace guard, while a red Jumpman logo graces each tongue. The sole is a black, white, red, and blue multicolored pattern with a yellow Jumpman logo. The inside of the shoes feature a similar pattern. Jordan signed his name in silver on the outside of each sneaker. These sneakers come with a full LOA from Mears, who have graded these game used sneakers Authentic and a LOA from the Chicago Bulls signed by Equipment Manager John Ligmanowski. There is also a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
