Ken Griffey, Jr. owned the outfielder Gold Glove Award for the entire decade of the 1990’s. From 1990 to 1999, Junior turned in one highlight reel performance after another as he carved out his place in baseball history. Looking back at his MVP-winning career and membership in the 600 Home Run Club, it’s easy to overlook the complete mastery Griffey had while playing center field. For instance, in 1992 while Junior was hitting .308 with 27 home runs, he also recorded 137 games in center field for Seattle, committing only a single error in 1,187 innings. This is the glove Ken Griffey, Jr. used during that 1992 season.

This Rawlings Pro TB fielder’s glove displays excellent use. Wear can be seen in the pocket, face of the web and throughout the body. Constructed of black tanned “Heart of the Hide” steer leather, the glove is bound with contrasting tan leather rawhide laces and nylon stitching. Features include the pro-style “6th finger Trap-Eze” web and “FastBack” wrist enclosure with finger “HolDster” and adjustable wrist strap. The most unique feature found on this glove is the two 1992 quarters found beneath the wrist strap. While one may guess that this was some sort of good luck charm, in fact these coins were inserted by Junior to tighten the strap – with all Griffey’s natural talent, who needs luck! The two Rawlings labels show some wear but remain intact. Though it is faint, the Hall of Famer has signed the face of the ring finger sleeve, completing this incredible 1992 Griffey gamer. Please note that due to the light signature, third party authenticators deemed the signature inconclusive. The glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00560) for the game use.
