When it comes to the conversation about the greatest pitchers, Nolan Ryan’s name is always at the top of the list. “The Ryan Express” delighted fans and challenged hitters throughout his illustrious 27-year career, and retired with two MLB records that may never be broken. The Hall of Famer owns the MLB record for strikeouts with 5,714 – no other pitcher has even gotten 5,000 career Ks – and an impressive mark of seven no-hitters.

Having such prestige is one thing. Owning an item from this type of career would put any collection in another stratosphere. Presented here is a historic game-used Texas Rangers jersey of Nolan Ryan. He wore this white button-down Texas Rangers home uniform on August 10th, 1993, as “The Ryan Express” collected the 323rd and penultimate win of his sparkling Major League Baseball career. Ryan, who debuted in 1966, pitched six strong innings against the California Angels at Arlington Stadium, allowing three runs (two earned) as Texas emerged the 6-3 victors. Ryan retired with 324 wins and an MLB-record 5,714 strikeouts, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.

Ryan has also signed the “4” on the jersey’s back in silver marker, inscribing “HOF 99” in addition to his signature. This offered Texas home jersey features “Rangers” and Ryan’s number “34” sewn on the front in blue and red tackle twill. “RYAN” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill above a second “34,” sewn on the jersey in blue and red tackle twill. An Arlington Stadium anniversary patch is sewn on the left sleeve, while a “Set 8/18 1993” tag is sewn on the front left tail. A W.A. Goodman & Sons size “46” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. The jersey was purchased directly from the Texas Rangers and comes with a Ryan COA and a Rangers COA for game-use, as well as LOAs from PSA/DNA (W09695) and JSA (Y38894) for Ryan’s signature.
