The Yankees with the sixth overall pick in the 1992 MLB Draft selected Derek Jeter straight out of High School. Jeter struggled during the 1992 campaign and batted a mere .202 in 47 games.  None-the-less he returned to the Hornets in 1993. In his first full season of professional baseball, Jeter hit .295 with five home runs, 71 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases; SAL managers voted him the "Most Outstanding Major League Prospect" in the league.  Combining to hit .344 with five home runs, 68 RBIs, and steal 50 bases across the three levels in 1994 he was honored with the Minor League Player of the Year Award by Baseball America, The Sporting News, USA Today, and Topps/NAPBL. He was also named the most valuable player of the FSL.

This Albany Colonie scorecard dates to the 1994 season, where Jeter made the shortest stop in his minor league career, playing only 34 games with the club from June to the end of July.  The scorecard is for a game against the Reading Phillies and the statistics on the scorecard are “thru games of : July 25th”.  The scorecard has been signed in bold blue marker by Derek Jeter and thirteen other teammates.  The signatures are nearly all Mint condition or better and would rate in the 9-10 range.  This scorecard is one of the earliest that features a signature and is of a minor league game featuring Jeter in the lineup.  This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
