Cal Ripken, Jr., the legendary Iron Man of baseball, used this Louisville Slugger during the 1995 season, which comes from his personal collection. Ripken broke Lou Gehrig’s previous record for consecutive games played during the 1995 campaign, starting his 2,131st consecutive game on September 6th. Ripken made his 13th consecutive All-Star appearance in 1995, finishing the season with 17 home runs and 88 RBI. Due to the player’s strike the year before the 1995 season was shortened to 144 games, of which Ripken started every one. Ripken’s bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. Ripken has added a piece of athletic tape on the barrel and marked it “Game Used 95”. This bat comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this bat, along with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19728) for the game use, who have given this bat the highest possible grade of GU 10.
