Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway led the Denver Broncos to their first two Super Bowl victories in his final two seasons in 1997 and 1998. When Elway retired, he threw for over 50,000 yards and 300 touchdowns. 1995 was another statistically excellent season for Elway as he tossed 316 completions, 3,970 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Offered here is a rare uniform (jersey and pants) that was worn by Elway. This jersey and pants combination was worn by Elway during the 1995 season, his 13th in the league since he was drafted No. 1 overall as part of the vaunted 1983 class. The jersey is an orange mesh jersey manufactured by Wilson and features Elway’s number “7” sewn on the front, back and sleeves in white and blue tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “ELWAY” sewn on in white and blue tackle twill on a matching orange nameplate. The sleeves have the Wilson “W/S” logo patch sewn on above the numbers and each sleeve has a blue/white/blue striping pattern screen-printed. The NFL shield patch is sewn on the base of the V-neck and the Wilson tag is sewn on the bottom of the front left tail, along with a white patch that has “95” embroidered in orange.

Also included in this lot are Elway’s game pants, also manufactured by Wilson. These now cream-colored Spandex pants are lined on each side with a thick orange stripe bordered on both sides in blue. The Wilson “W/S” logo patch is sewn on the upper right thigh and the NFL shield patch is sewn on the upper left thigh. The Wilson size 36 flag tag is sewn on the inside and “7” is handwritten in faded black marker on the inner white waist band. Both the jersey and pants display moderate game use and come with a LOA from MEARS.
