During the 1996-1997 seasons, Mike Piazza produced his best seasons as a Dodger. In 1996 he hit .336 with 36 home runs and the next hit .362 with 40 homers. Both seasons he finished second in the MVP voting and brought him closer to the lifetime stats that would earn him a plaque in Cooperstown. This 1996-97 Mizuno World Win model bat shows heavy use with a handle crack. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are found on the barrel along with black ink transfers and cleat imprints. The impression of a weighted batting donut is visible and there is a moderate coat of pine tar mid-handle. Piazza’s initials and stamped into the knob and his number “31” is hand written on the knob and barrel ends in blue marker. The Hall of Fame has signed the barrel in black marker adding the inscription “G/U.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03059) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a COA from PSA/DNA (4A10528) for the signature.
