Encapsulated and graded MINT 95 by VGA. “Super Mario 64,” developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for their Nintendo 64 gaming console, completely revolutionized the “Super Mario Bros.” franchise. Directed by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, who conceived a 3D Mario game during the production of “Star Fox” in 1993. “Super Mario 64” features 3-dimensional freedom of movement within a large open world based on 3D polygons and improves the Mario tradition of gameplay, visual style, and famous characters from the celebrated video game franchise.
The effective camera system and 360-degree analog control established a new model for the 3D game genre in much the same way “Super Mario Bros.” did for platform games. The game takes place in Princess Peach’s castle that Bowser has overrun, with Mario tasked to save Princess Peach by recovering the castle’s 120 Power Stars and defeating Bowser. Released on September 29, 1996, to universal critical and commercial acclaim, the game sold 11 million copies by 2003 and is widely considered one of the greatest video games of all time.
This presented copy features a “K-A” rating label from the ESRB on the cover of this sealed specimen. A plastic hangtag is present and affixed to the back of the box. This particular copy was uncirculated, meaning it never hit store shelves, making this copy all the more desirable. Encapsulated and graded MINT 95 by the Video Game Authority, this item is a highly sought-after sealed game and one of Nintendo’s greatest offerings, in MINT condition.
