In what was a precursor to the FIBA International Cup, The McDonald’s Championship began in 1987 and ran until 1999 featuring the reigning NBA Champions against champion club teams from Europe, South America and Australia. In the history of the McDonald’s Championship, all of the tournaments were won by the NBA teams.

The 1997 tournament was held at the Palais Omnispots de Paris-Bercy (now the AccorHotels Arena) in Paris, France. Fresh off their 1997 NBA Title victory over the Utah Jazz, Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls represented the NBA in the highly renowned pre-season tournament. Offered is the very Chicago Bulls uniform that was used by "His Airness" during this pre-season tournament in Paris, and what was ultimately Jordan’s last campaign with the mighty Bulls. Specifically, this jersey was worn during the Bulls 89-82 semi-final victory over the local team PSG Racing on October 17, 1997, where Jordan had a game-high 28 points on 11-23 shooting.

This heavy red knit mesh Nike jersey features “BULLS” and Jordan’s number “23” sewn on in black and white tackle twill on the front of the jersey and displays moderate use. The back of the jersey has “JORDAN” and “23” sewn on in black and white tackle twill. The neck and sleeve openings are of red-white-and-black, tri-striped elastic and embroidered on the left shoulder is an NBA logo in red, white and blue. Properly tagged, the garment features a "NIKE" (size) "50" label on the left front tail, flanking "NBA Authentics" and "CHICAGO BULLS" tags and a flag tag denoting "LENGTH +4."

The matching shorts feature a red-white-and-black elastic waistband and the team's snarling bull logo sewn to the side of each leg. The "NIKE" (size) "42" tag within the waistband has a black-marker inscription of "23" and accompanying flag tags respectively reading "INSEAM +3," and "1997-98." The uniform reveals evidence of moderate use and shows no repairs or alterations of any kind. There was slight color bleeding on the white areas of the jersey and shorts which gives those areas a light pink color. Both items have been authenticated, and the Complete Uniform comes with a LOA Mears, who have graded this uniform a perfect “A10” and the jersey comes with a full LOA from The MeiGray Group (153016), which dates this jersey’s use to the October 17th game against PSG Racing in Paris. Although this jersey has been photo matched to this specific game, based on Mears' determining moderate use, it's more than likely that this jersey was worn in additional NBA regular season games during the 1997-98 season.
