In 1997, Alex Rodriguez was just beginning the career that would end 22 years later as a member of the ultra-exclusive 600 Home Run Club. On August 21, A-Rod’s Mariners were facing the Indians at the Kingdome. In the bottom of the 2nd inning he took a Bartolo Colon pitch to deep left field for 19th home run of 1997 and just the 60th of his career. In his second full season in the majors, Rodriguez would go on to hit 23 that year, establishing himself as one of the best young sluggers to come around in a generation.

The Louisville Slugger C271 model bat displays outstanding use with a handle crack and chip in the cupped end. Many ball marks with stitch impressions abound on all sides of the barrel along with blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. A-Rod has signed the barrel in silver marker and inscribed, “HR #19 97.” This bat comes with LOAs from PSA/DNA (1B01585) and Alex Rodriguez for the game use and signature and sticker from PSA/DNA (K53969) for the signature.
