The Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino wore this white Miami Dolphins road jersey in a 24-13 victory over the Baltimore Ravens at Memorial Stadium on October 19th, 1997. Marino, the 1984 NFL MVP, completed 18 of 27 passes for 189 yards and zero interceptions in Miami’s smashmouth win over the Ravens. Karim Abdul-Jabbar rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns, while O.J. McDuffie was Marino’s leading receiver with seven catches for 77 yards. The former Pitt Panthers signal-caller threw for 3,680 yards and 16 touchdowns in 1997 while leading the NFL with 319 completions. Marino’s Dolphins finished the season 9-7 and made a playoff appearance in Jimmy Johnson’s second season at the helm.

Marino, a legend at Pittsburgh’s Central Catholic High School, finished his transcendent NFL career with 61,316 passing yards and 420 touchdowns, both NFL records at the time of his retirement in 1999. Marino was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

This offered Dolphins road jersey is white, with Marino’s number “13” sewn on the chest, back, and shoulders in teal, orange, and black tackle twill. “MARINO” is sewn on the back shoulders in teal and orange tackle twill over a matching white nameplate. Starter logos are applied to both sleeves. A Starter size “54” tag is sewn on the front left tail. A NFL logo and a Dolphins wordmark are sewn on the chest and a “97-54” swatch is sewn on the back inside collar.  Marino has signed the “1” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker, inscribing “13” after his signature.
