The Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this glass award at All-Star Weekend 1997 in Cleveland, Ohio, by Gordon and Lulie Gund, the then owners of the Cavaliers. This award honors Abdul-Jabbar’s selection as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history, a list that surely sees Abdul-Jabbar near the very top. This award comes in two pieces; glass plate measuring 10 inches in diameter and a wooden base with a notch to place the plate in. The plate is printed with “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / Congratulations to the 50 Greatest NBA Players of All Time / Gordon & Lulie Gund”. Also present on this plate are the NBA 50th Anniversary and 1997 All-Star Weekend logos. Abdul-Jabbar has signed the wooden base of this award in fine-tip silver marker, inscribing “HOF ‘95” in addition to his signature. This award comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
