Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan broke out in 1997, recording a new career high of 14 sacks, a 6.5 sack increase from his previous best. The aggressive pass rusher from Texas Southern earned his first Pro Bowl nod, as well as his first First Team All-Pro selection, for his outstanding performance in leading the Giants to a 10-5-1 record and a division title. Strahan, who started all 16 games in 1997, also forced two fumbles in his accolade studded season.

Strahan wore this road white New York Giants mesh jersey during the December 7th, 1997 game at Philadelphia where he recorded two tackles and a fumble recovery. This jersey has been photo matched to this game by Resolution Photomatching. This shows moderate use with some small stains on the jersey. Additionally, black fabric has been sewn on the inside chest area of the jersey. Strahan’s number “92” is sewn on the front, back, and shoulders of this jersey in blue and red tackle twill. “STRAHAN” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill on a matching white nameplate. An NFL shield is sewn on the outside of the collar, while a Reebok size “46” tag with a “LONGS” flag attached is sewn on the back inside of the collar. The collar and sleeve ends have a blue/red/blue striping pattern and a Reebok tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA from Ed Wagner, the Equipment Manager of the New York Giants and a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426114) who have photo matched this jersey to the December 7th, 1997 game.
