As the ace of one of the greatest pitching staffs in the history of the game, Greg Maddux posted his usual Hall of Fame-style stats for 1998: 18-9 with a 2.22 ERA, (winning his fourth National League ERA title), and allowed less than a runner on base per each of his 251 innings. When he took his turn at bat, Maddux used this Rawlings 155B model. The bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are found on the left, front and back barrel along with both blue and black ink transfers. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and the model number “155B,” order number “379,” and year “98” are stamped into the knob. The weight “32,” “Maddux,” and his number “31” are handwritten on the knob and his number “31” repeated on the barrel end in black marker. A particularly nice example of a Maddux gamer from the height of his Hall of Fame career. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14938) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.
