Fifteen years of perfection came to a glorious conclusion on April 18, 1998 when Michael Jordan played his last regular season game. The trail MJ left in his wake seems almost impossible to comprehend - besides being a 5-time NBA MVP, 6-time NBA Finals MVP and champion, Michael Jordan completely revolutionize the way pro basketball was played. The excitement he brought to the game propelled the NBA onto the same level of popularity as MLB and the NFL. When Jordan walked off the court for the last time in 1998 he did so with the knowledge that he had changed the game of basketball forever. This jersey has been photo-matched to Jordan's final regular season game on April 18, 1998. As befits the greatest player in NBA history, Jordan wasn't content to go quietly - scoring 44 points including 22 out of 24 free throws in the 111-109 come-from-behind victory over the Knicks. That wasn't all - those 44 points not only cemented Jordan's tenth and final NBA scoring title but his fifth NBA MVP Award as well. To date only one other photo-matched Jordan jersey from his last season has come to market - and that sold for $104,000 in our Summer 2015 Auction. This one is not only photo-matched, but it is the very last one ever worn by MJ during his regular season career. The white mesh jersey has "BULLS" and Jordan's famous number "23" on the front in black and red tackle twill. Black, white and red ribbing caps off each arm and neck opening. Size 50 Nike label in the left front tail with "LENGTH +4" and Chicago Bulls tagging affixed. The back features "JORDAN" and number "23" in individual red and black tackle twill characters. The jersey shows light game use and the colors remain strong and bright. Jordan has signed the "2" in black marker, topping off a truly historic piece of NBA history.
