Great piece of lumber from Griffey’s last season in a Mariners’ uniform. During his time with Seattle Junior made the All-Star team 10 times, the Gold Glove Award 10 times and led the AL in home runs four times. As a testament to how monumental a talent he was, Griffey’s own contemporaries gave him the ultimate compliment by awarded him with the Players Choice Award for Player of the Decade. Junior’s Louisville Slugger C271 model bat is uncracked and shows outstanding use. The barrel shows many white leather ball scuffs, stitch impressions and blue ink transfers. Cleat marks can be seen on the barrel and the handle has been criss-cross taped for an enhanced grip. Griffey has signed the bat beside the MLB logo on the barrel in silver ink adding “HR 13 99”. Two PSA/DNA numbered stickers (U28111 and 1B05335) are affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10. Bat also comes with a Unique Sports COA that has been hand signed by Griffey.
