Encapsulated and graded MINT 9 by BGS, with signature graded "10" by Beckett. Hall of Famer. Kobe Bryant has scripted a bold, blue ink signature (adding his jersey number, "8") on the obverse of this premium collectible. The cardfront presentation also incorporates a multi-colored, game worn jersey patch relic.
An abundantly impressive card from every perspective, this sublime collectible delivers special attributes that add tremendously to its evocative character. In particular, the piece represents the hobby's first signed card release to feature the inclusion of a Kobe Game Jersey Patch. Additionally, the great athlete's portrayal on this commemorative is certain to capture the fascination of NBA enthusiasts. Our consignor combed through footage of the 2000 NBA Finals on YouTube, and was able to identify the exact play that is depicted on the card. The action, beautifully preserved by this low-mintage card for today's collectors, occurred in Game 4. This is amazing and significant, because that was Kobe’s first big breakout game, where he dominated in overtime after Shaq fouled out. This determination is fully confirmed by the game clock – reading 7:26, 2nd quarter of Game 4 – clearly visible in the dynamic scene's background.
The card's BGS condition report: Centering: 9.5, Corners: 8.5, Edges: 9.5, Surface: 9.5. A statement on the card's back attests to the authenticity of the signature and the genuineness of the patch component, and serves as Upper Deck’s COA.
