United States soccer mainstay Michelle Akers wore this United States Women’s National Team jersey in 2000 as her international career wound to a satisfying close. Akers, the scorer of the first goal in USWNT history, played in the 2000 Olympic qualifiers before ending her illustrious national team career. The Golden Boot winner of the 1991 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Akers led the USWNT to World Cup titles in 1991 and 1999 in addition to an Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics in the first women’s soccer competition at the Olympic Games. The former UCF All-American retired with 155 caps and 107 goals for the Stars and Stripes. Akers wore this offered jersey in 2000. The USWNT legend has signed this jersey, adding 1999 FIFA World Cup inscriptions to her signature. This jersey comes with a LOA from Michelle Akers.
