United States legend Michelle Akers was issued this red and navy United States Women’s National Team soccer jersey during 2000 Sydney Summer Olympic qualifiers. Akers, one of the United States most decorated athletes, retired just before the Olympics to end a historic 15-year career with the USWNT. Akers received 155 caps and scored 107 goals for the United States, winning the inaugural 1991 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. Akers was the Golden Boot winner in 1991, scoring 10 goals during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in China, including both goals in the United States’ 2-1 win over Norway in the Finals.

This long-sleeved jersey, one of the final USWNT jerseys issued to Akers in her iconic career, has the number “10” applied to the chest and back in white numbers. “AKERS” is applied to the back shoulders in white lettering. A star is sewn on the right sleeve. The USWNT crest and a Nike swoosh are located on the chest of this size “L” jersey. Akers has signed the back of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “#10”, “USA”, and “Dec 2000” in addition to her signature. This jersey comes with a LOA from Michelle Akers. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue and Outreach Inc.
