Glavine pitched eight strong innings, allowing three runs as he by-and-large shut down a powerful Astros lineup. Glavine, an All-Star in 2000, finished the year with an MLB-best 21 victories and a 3.40 ERA. The former Los Angeles Kings draft pick won 305 games in his legendary career, leading the Braves to retire his number “47” in 2010.
