The ubiquitous broadcaster Dick Enberg was presented with this CoSIDA’s Keith Jackson Eternal Flame award in 2001. The award is presented to the man, woman, or organization which has “made a lasting contribution to intercollegiate athletics, has demonstrated a long and consistent commitment to excellence and has been a loyal supporter of CoSIDA and its mission.” Certainly, the longtime Rose Bowl and UCLA play-by-play announcer was a worthy recipient of this award, which was presented in Enberg’s adopted home-town of San Diego.
This award takes the shape of a gold gout of flame rising from a multi-tiered cylindrical pedestal. A placard on the pedestal reads “CoSida’s / Keith Jackson Eternal Flame Award / Dick Enberg / July 2, 2001 / San Diego, California”. This award measures approximately 11 inches tall with the base measuring 5 inches in diameter. This award is in good condition, and it comes with a LOA from the Enberg family.
